She has a Masters in Law with specialization in Human Rights from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Adjudged as the "Best Law Graduate- 2006" she has bagged the coveted Dinabandhu Memorial award. She has two gold medals to her credit for having topped the university on the completion of 5 yrs Integrated law and for persistently securing the first position throughout the entire B.A LL.B (Hons.) course. Apart from attending various national and international conferences she has edited a book 'Labour and Industrial Laws' published by PHI and written by Prof. P.K Padhi, faculty at XLRI, Jamshedpur. Prior to joining KLS she was a guest faculty in Utkal University. Her areas of interest include international criminal law, laws relating to women, children and refugees.

Mr. Divya Tyagi, has done his LL.B. and LL.M. from Faculty of law, University of Delhi. He started his career as a Research Fellow in National Foundation of Communal Harmony (an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Home Affairs). He has worked in Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur and Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar. During his teaching career he has taught variety of subjects - Law, Poverty and Development, Corporate Law, Administrative Law. His area of interest includes Human Rights and Corporate Law.

Jayanta Kumar Mohapatra
Associate Professor of Finance and Accounting

He completed his M.Com, LL.B, A.C.S. (Associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India) and ACA (Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India).He is also perusing post membership qualification. Program in corporate governance offered by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He has more than six years of teaching experience in subjects like Finance, Accounting, Corporate Laws and Taxation and has taught at reputed educational institutions like ICFAI, IPSAR and IMB.

Rajesh Rout

He completed his M.Com and PGDM (XIMB). He has worked in various industries in India and the Gulf and has about 4 years of teaching experience. He was previously the Dean of the NIS Academy (NIS Sparta) and Faculty at ICFAI Business School. His areas of interest include Marketing Management and Personality Development/ soft skills.

Arpita Mitra
Assistant Professor of Sociology

She completed graduation in Sociology from Presidency College and stood 2nd from the University. She did her Masters in Sociology from University of Calcutta. She was a JRF and SRF (State-sponsored) and is pursuing her doctoral degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Her specialization areas include Sociology of Crime and Deviance and Sociology of Science and Technology. She is a life member of Indian Sociological Society and has presented about 10 papers in national and international conferences. She taught Sociology in the Honours and General Courses at Jogamaya Devi College and Murulidhar Girls College, Kolkata. She has taught Sociology of Environment as a compulsory paper in the Masters program at Jadavpur University.

Suryaprakash Mishra
Assistant Professor of Economics

He did his M.A. (Economics) from Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune and M.S. (Applied Economics & Statistics) from Clemson University, U.S.A. He has varied work experience as a Securities Trader, as a Visiting Faculty at various institutes and Research Analyst, before taking up his M.S. While at Clemson University, he has delivered courses on Statistics and Economics.

Debdatta Das

After completing her B.A.LL.B ( Hons) with first division marks from Calcutta University, Ms. Debadatta Das obtained her LL.M. degree from National Law Institute University, Bhopal with specialization in Crime and Criminal Justice Administration. She has interned with BPR&D and other legal institutes. She has to her credit the publication of an article in the official website of Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D), Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi. She has also published a joint article titled, “Quest of Humanism for Victims of Terrorism” in 2008, in Madhya Pradesh State Human Rights Commission Journal. She was also actively associated with the legal education programme of NALSA. Apart from this she has participated and presented papers in various seminars and conferences and is also member of the Indian Society of Criminology.

Shreya Chatterjee

Ms. Shreya has completed her LL.M from National Law Institute University, Bhopal with a specialization in Law, Science and Technology and B.A.LL.B (Hons.) from Calcutta University. Presently she has also enrolled herself for the Ph.D programme in KIIT University. She has worked on a project for The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), New Delhi, which entailed a research on Capability, Governance and Nanotechnology developments in India. Prior to joining here she has also worked on numerous Internship projects in various reputed Law firms and has also attended Calcutta High Court.

Kasturi Bhagat

Ms. Kasturi has a Masters in Law with specialization in International Human Rights from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Along with that she has gained extra credit by doing courses on Business Contract, a course offered by Dr. Avinash Govindjee, Proffessor, Faculty of law, Nelson Mandela University, South Africa, “MEDIATION: THE PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE”, a mediation workshop offered by Joel Wallock and team reputed mediators from USA, “INTERNATIONAL  FINANCE  LAW”, offered by ALLEN & OVERY, a leading International Law Firm and attended and presented papers on many more National and international conferences and seminars and workshops. Has won various moot courts as a student other than securing third position in the University as a B.A.LLB. student. Prior to joining KLS she was a Faculty Member in Law at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law. Her areas of teaching have been International law, IPR, Human Rights and Family Law. Ms. Kasturi is a Faculty Associate in KLS.

Satya Narayan Jena

Mr. Satya Narayan Jena, Faculty Associate at KLS, has done his B.A. with Political Science (Hons.) from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, M.A. (Political Science) from University of Delhi, Delhi and M.Phil from the Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He is pursuing his Ph.D. from JNU, New Delhi. He started his career as a Research Assistant for the Developing Countries Research Centre (DCRC), University of Delhi and the Council for Social Development, New Delhi conducting field survey on the socio-economic impacts of the 1999 Orissa Super Cyclone and contributed in bringing forward critical issues relating to disaster management and possible suggestions to concerned agencies in the govt. and civil society. As a Social Scientist in the Centre for Youth & Social Development (CYSD), Bhubaneswar, he initiated a study on the cause of landlessness among tribal & other marginalized groups in Orissa, the effectiveness of various govt. land distribution schemes and mobilized the Forest Rights Act process in field locations & at the state level. As a consulting Social Researcher for the Institute for Social & Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore, he contributed towards the preparation of the District Plan and District Vision Document 2020 for Jajpur District of Orissa.

Ananya Chakraborty

After doing her Bachelor of Law from University of Calcutta, Ananya Chakraborty pursued her LL.M. degree from West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences in year 2009. She was awarded gold medal for standing first in the order of merit in LL.M. by the Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Trust. Later she joined the Haldia Law College. She had participated in several seminars and workshops organised by International Red Cross Committee, the International Commission of Jurists, and others.

Paromita Chattoraj

Ms. Paromita Chattoraj graduated with LL.B (Hons) from the Department of law, University of Calcutta and completed her Masters Degree (LL.M) with a Gold Medal. Thereafter she practised for 2 years at Calcutta High Court and also Worked as a lecturer at Vidyasagar School of Social Work, from August, 2005 to March, 2006. She then moved to Singapore and worked as a Trade Mark Attorney at Patrick Mirandah Company, Singapore. She returned back to India in 2008 and Joined Haldia Law College as a visiting faculty where she worked for two years from 2008-2010. She is currently working as a Faculty Associate at KIIT Law School and pursuing her Doctoral (PhD) work. With the guidance of Prof Nirmal Kanti Chakrabarti Director KIIT Law School (KLS). She has authored a chapter titled “Street Children in Kolkata- A Study in Socio-Rehabilitative Perspective”; which was published as chapter-20 in the book titled ‘Law and Child’ edited by Prof N.K Chakrabarti and published by R. Cambray & Co. Private LTD. She has attended several Conferences and seminars and is a life member of the Indian Society of Victimology.

Aditi Banerjee

Ms. Aditi Banerjee completed her Post Graduate Programme in Management with specialization in the area of Human Resource Management. She served seven years with different National and Multinational Industries. She was also a guest faculty in Sikkim Manipal University, Kolkata.

She is continuing her Doctoral Program in the area of HR and Organizational Behavior under West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata.  She has also contributed few articles in National Journals.
