NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS

KIIT is a member of prestigious national and international professional bodies, including University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), International Association of University Presidents (IAUP), Institute of International Education (IIE), New York and Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Its commitment for better industry-institute interaction has resulted in MoUs and active collaboration with institutes and organizations of repute in India and abroad. KIIT School of law has collaboration with the leading international law education consorliums incluiding the International Association of Law Schools. Washington USA and Asia-Pacific Association of Law Schools, Australia.

KIIT School of Law has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Bureau of Police Research and Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi for collaborative research studies and capacity building of police personnel and police administration. As a part of this MOU, the KIIT School of Law has organized a five day training program for police personnel in the rank of DSP's in the state of Orissa on “Latest Rulings with regard to Criminal Law” from 1st to 5th February 2010.

KIIT School of Law has also entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Child Rights and You (CRY) to undertake collaborative activities and nationwide effort to implement legislation relating to children and to create awareness on several important issues relating to child rights. In pursuance of that, KIIT School of Law has undertaken a research study in four districts of Orissa to assess the realization of fundamental right to education by children in the respective areas.

ILSA Chapter launched
A chapter of the International Law Students' Association (ILSA) was launched on 1st August '09 at KSOL. Mr. Philipe Cullet, School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London inaugurated the chapter.

Legal Aid Clinic
Hon'ble Mr. Justice I.M. Quddusi, Acting Chief Justice, Orissa High Court inaugurated on 29th August'09 a Legal Aid Clinic at KSOL in presence of Dr. A. Samanta, Founder KIIT Group of Institutions. The Legal Aid Clinic provides affordable legal aid and legal representation in court of law, tribunal or body to persons who are indigent or for any other reason are unable to obtain the services of private legal practitioners.
